Once HuddleFly finishes creating its Wi-Fi hotspot, (i.e. when you see this screen on your TV or Monitor). From your mobile phone or PC or Mac, you can simply open up a browser and go to http://192.168.1.1 to configure your Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi configuration page should look like as shown below:

The optional Activity Sensor functionality will require you to purchase the additional Motion Sensor hardware for $19.99 from the buy products page. Once HuddleFly is connected with the motion sensor, you can control the status of the display monitor based on motions. HuddleFly uses the PIR sensor (passive infrared sensor) to detect objects motion in its field of view. The activity is further recorded and shown to you as follows.
If you had to hard-reset HuddleFly, and still want to save your previous preferences that you had configured such as calendars, pictures etc. you can simply click on “Edit” the device and reenter the new token number given to you.
Note: You can configure HuddleFly either via iPhone app or on the website (huddlefly.co). There is no power button for HuddleFly, but rather a hard-reset button (factory reset) when pressed for 5 seconds.
- Create a HuddleFly account. You can use any email or login with Google or Facebook. Remember this email since you will need it in step#8. If you used an email to register, make sure you verify your account (Check SPAM folder for email from huddlefly.co).
- Connect HuddleFly device to any monitor/smart tv with an HDMI slot. Or if you have a monitor with a DVI slot, you can use a DVI-HDMI adapter.
- Turn ON your monitor & connect HuddleFly power. To power, you can either use the USB slots within your monitor/smart tv or the supplied power supply (HuddleFly works with 2V/1.5amps power supply).
- HuddleFly creates its own Wi-Fi hotspot for configuration, be within 15-30 feet for a strong signal & follow directions on the monitor until the screen says: “5 Steps to connect HuddleFly to your Wi-Fi network.”
- On your iPhone go to Settings->Wi-Fi and connect to “HuddleFly” hotspot.
- On the iPhone a browser automatically launches. On a PC browser, simply go to http://192.168.1.1
- Choose “Wi-Fi Connection” or “LAN Connection” button. If you picked Wi-Fi Connection, choose “Wi-Fi Network” & click “Connect”.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password & HuddleFly account email that you created in step#1 & click “Submit” & follow the messages on the monitor.
- Once HuddleFly successfully connects to your Wi-Fi, it will display a random QR code & a short URL.
- Scan the QR code or enter the short URL to Add your new device. You are all set & ready to send commands to HuddleFly! Please visit http://huddlefly.co/FAQs to get a head start on how to use HuddleFly.
Creating a new account with HuddleFly is easy. If you are using the app, you can simply click on “Create an Account” and follow the prompt. If you have Google’s Gmail account or Facebook account, you can simply click on the Sign in with Google or Sign in with Facebook.
In-lieu of Device/Display Settings, you can control HuddleFly device further with the Device Commands function. You can Turn ON/OFF the display monitor, Switch between HDMI/DMI monitor displays, Reboot HuddleFly or Change your Wi-Fi password or HuddleFly email account. Simply pick the selected option and click the “Send” button.
Device Health/Information function provides information about the health of the HuddleFly device.
Using Device Schedule functionality, you can control HuddleFly’s monitor’s status. You can either turn ON or OFF the monitor based on a predetermined schedule for a week. You can set the device schedule for a particular day as shown below and click the “Follow This Schedule For Entire Week” button.
HuddleFly device and display settings can be controlled here. Data refresh rates are set to 10 minutes by default. Here you can change display colors, display zoom, screen rotations & change the wallpaper of the device (Upload your own company logo).
HuddleFly has the ability to display schedules and play them at pre-determined times. This feature is only available for on the Web app. For example: If you have a need to display breakfast menu at 6am in the morning and lunch menu at 11am, you can do this by creating Display Schedule as follows.
Note: When the end time is reached, HuddleFly automatically goes back and displays the Master Menu.
HuddleFly can display world times from different regions. You can select up-to 4 countries (regions) to display at a time.
HuddleFly has the ability to display multiple Facebook photo albums from multiple Facebook accounts. Just click the “Add Account” button and login to your Facebook account and follow the prompt as shown below. Pick the photo albums you like to display and click the “Save Album(s)” button. You will finally have to click the “Submit Preferences” button for the changes to appear on HuddleFly.
HuddleFly Web App:
HuddleFly can display Global, Local News for a particular zip code and key word news for 2 topics that you set within configuration. Simply input the zip code for local news and input 2 news topics separated by comma as shown and click “Update”. Further you can also control the number of news items that you can display on the screen. The default is set to 5 news items.
Please Note: There is no power button for HuddleFly, but rather a hard-reset button (factory reset) when pressed for 5 seconds. A hard reset, resets HuddleFly to original factory setting. This is useful to restore the device to reconfigure again. To reset HuddleFly simply press the reset button for 5 seconds and hold. You will see a message such as this one.
HuddleFly has the ability to Play Sequence. What this means is that you can display Browser based information for say 15 minutes, then say switch over to YouTube and play for 3 minutes and then Display a Website for 5 minutes etc. Here is how to do it:
Transition times can be set between HuddleFly feature options as follows. Simply click into a feature you like to display on HuddleFly and pick the transition timing from a few seconds to hours. You can set transition times between browser pages and videos (sequence play).
Using the “Post A Menu/Message or Picture” option, you can only Post A Message of (500 characters) or a single Picture. However, if you need to show multiple pictures as a slideshow, you can to use the “Facebook Album(s) Slideshow” option. This way you can create a Facebook album and have that album selected to be shown on HuddleFly.
HuddleFly can display Local Events Near You based on a particular zip code and your interests. For example if you are interested in Comedy events within the 90210 zip code and you would like to view events within the 100 miles radius. HuddleFly will aggregate this data for you.
When a “Lock Screen” option is chosen, HuddleFly device simply simply shows Date and Time of the HuddleFly’s device location that is configured during registering a new device. No other information is displayed.
Single-Page Mode:
HuddleFly has the ability to display snippets of aggregated information from the web using the Single Page Display mode in a dashboard format. By default HuddleFly displays one page after another and rotates them based on the transition time period setup by you. However, using Single Page, you can see all of those information in a single place. So, for example: Within the Play Browser function, you could choose say Google Calendar, Google Tasks, Weather, Local Events, Stocks/Currency, Global/Local News and Post A Message option. HuddleFly will display it in the following format as shown below.
HuddleFly can play directly from USB drive. Load all the pictures and videos into your USB and plug it into the USB slot of HuddleFly device. When HuddleFly power cycles (reboot), it will detect the presence of the USB drive and play all the pictures and play the videos automatically. You can set the transition time between the pictures using a text file called Transition.txt as follows and enter the number of seconds between picture transition.

HuddleFly has the ability to play pictures as a slideshow. Simply zip pictures as a zip file and upload it to Dropbox as shown below. Once uploaded, just copy the Dropbox URL and paste it in HuddleFly Play From Cloud option and select “Pictures” and the “Transitions” between the pictures. HuddleFly will download all the pictures in the zip file and plays it locally from the Device.

HuddleFly has the ability to play both pictures and video from a single zip file. Simply zip up both pictures and videos from a folder and upload the file (in zip format) to Dropbox as shown below. Once uploaded, just copy the Dropbox URL and paste it in HuddleFly Play From Cloud option and select “Videos”. HuddleFly will download the video and play it locally from the Device.
NOTE PowerPoint Play Limitations:
– Limitation#1: Animations are currently not supported within PowerPoint slide show. Should you have to animate, you can convert your PowerPoint into a video first and then play it in HuddleFly. How to display PowerPoint slideshow on HuddleFly?
- Open your PowerPoint file (.pptx or .ppt or .odp) using Microsoft PowerPoint program, go to Transitions and select all of your slides and pick the transition style. Within the Advance Slide option, uncheck “On Mouse Click” and select “After” option and pick a slide transition delay.
- Next, go to Slide Show and select “Setup Slide Show”. Pick the option “Browsed at a kiosk (full screen)” and select Ok. Save your file.
- Upload the file to your Dropbox account
- Within the Dropbox account, click “Share” and copy the shared URL link
- Pick “Play From Cloud” option, set your transition time. Select “PowerPoint” option for Media to Play and paste the Dropbox shared URL. Click Update and Save Preferences.
If you experience issues with displaying PowerPoint correctly to scale on your TV or monitor, the other option would be for you to convert the PowerPoint to slide pictures as follows by choosing jpeg file and All Slides. Zip all the slide pictures and upload to Dropbox as usual. On HuddleFly, you would just pick Pictures and choose Transition times between slides and Submit. Plus it will be a much faster playing without any conversions.

HuddleFly has the ability to play video. Simply upload a video file (in the correct format) to Dropbox as shown below. Once uploaded, just copy the Dropbox URL and paste it in HuddleFly Play From Cloud option and select “Videos”. HuddleFly will download the video and play it locally from the Device.
HuddleFly can “play” websites in the order you specify in the app. For example, you may specify each of the websites to be played followed by a comma (,) and specify the duration the website should stay ON. HuddleFly will show that website for the duration specified and close it and open a new one and in a continuous loop.
HuddleFly can play YouTube videos that you specify in the app. It can play the YouTube videos either once or a particular video in a continuous loop. Depending upon if the YouTube video is a playlist or a single video, HuddleFly takes time to stream it. Playlists take some time to stream.
You can Post A Message of (500 characters limit) or a Picture and select multiple options of its corresponding display. HuddleFly can display both your message and the picture or just the picture in full screen mode or you can have the Marquee option that will show marquee across all screens displayed on the top portion of the screen.
Note: If you need multiple pictures to be displayed on HuddleFly, the best mechanism would be to use the “Facebook Album(s) Slideshow” option. This way you can create a Facebook album and have that album selected to be shown on HuddleFly.

HuddleFly has the ability to display multiple shared calendars from multiple Google’s gmail accounts. You can control the calendar view on HuddleFly by changing the view type. Views can be by Month, Week or Day. HuddleFly will change and display the selected view accordingly on your display.You can further, pick the color code for each of your calendars using the “Color Picker” button. If you manage and would like to view Google Task list of both completed and pending tasks, you will have to click on the “Show Task” button as shown below. You will finally have to click the “Submit Preferences” button for the changes to appear on HuddleFly.
HuddleFly can display stock quotes and currency exchange rates. Simply input the stock symbols separated by comma as shown and click “Update”.
To access Premium features within HuddleFly (such as the Shared Google Calendar/Tasks, Local Events Near You etc.) and to control more than one device within an account – You will need to purchase a subscription. The different levels of subscription and the plans are described here. To purchase a payment plan, simply click on “Profile/Pay$” ribbon and navigate to the Pay screen. Here you can choose from Bronze, Silver and the Gold plans. Payments can only be made via the Apple’s in app payment system.
HuddleFly accepts preferences set-forth by you. Simply select the options and click the “Submit Preferences” button. You can control the display, the frequency, the transitions timings within the Device Settings. You can set the settings to be either a rotating page or a single page. You can further adjust various settings such as the Transitions, Refresh rate, Display Colors and the Zoom.
User Profile shows the type of payment plan that you are on and if the user’s email has been verified.
HuddleFly can display weather forecast for 3 + 1 days. It show the current weather and the next 3 days for the zip code of your choice. This weather forecast (temperature and humidity) is different or can be the same displayed on the top left hand corner. The temperature and humidity displayed on the top left hand corner and the date/time is based on the device location that is setup when you add a new device.
HuddleFly platform has the ability to tag a Master Device so other devices within the same account can clone/follow content! This is a paid subscription. In other words, Master device comes into play only when you have more than one device in your account and that you want all devices in your account to “follow the master” device. If you have only one device, this feature does not apply to you.

By default, PowerPoint transitions are set to None. If this happens, PowerPoint will be stuck in the first slide when you play it in HuddleFly device. You must select ALL your slides and pick a Transition. For example: Fade, Push. Next unselect “On Mouse Click” and select After say 5 seconds.
